Africa Data Centres chooses Distributed Power Technologies to provide renewable energy

Africa Data Centres has announced that it has chosen Distributed Power Technologies (DPT) to provide its South African data centers with renewable energy and storage. This announcement follows news that the company recently secured nearly R4 billion to expand and develop its two data centers in Johannesburg from 30MW to 100MW.

Commenting on the company's commitment to a more sustainable future, Stephane Duproz, CEO of Africa Data Centres, said: "Our existing data centres are being upgraded to accelerate the deployment of green technologies, within our commitment towards carbon neutrality. We are looking at making all our data centres sustainable to allow for greater efficiency and a greener environment."

Meanwhile, Norman Moyo, DPT CEO, said: "We continue to build for Africa's unique energy needs and to support the continent's digital transformation. We understand the power needs of data centres and have designed our data centre solutions as hybrid solutions to improve energy resilience."
