GenH2 has announced that it has produced a mobile liquid hydrogen plant, which it has said can be deployed to support pilot projects and tests for applications such as data centers.
The company has outlined that the LS20 mobile liquid hydrogen system is an end-to-end liquefaction and storage system that can be used in a range of applications, including transportation and energy backup applications. Its key features include being able to produce convenient and safe liquid hydrogen (between two and 20 kg per day). The company also outlined that 20kg of liquid hydrogen contains nearly 2400 Megajoules. This is the equivalent of 666kWh of energy and would be enough to back up a 330kW facility for two hours. It also has a 400 Liter capacity liquid hydrogen storage tank with a zero-boil-off storage feature, as well as a zero-loss, liquid-to-liquid transfer system with a hydrogen gas recovery bag.
Speaking about this, Jong Baik, chief technology officer of GenH2, said: "The development of the LS20 has been a culmination of decades of experience and engineering within and in conjunction with NASA," "Providing researchers and developers of hydrogen infrastructure with a modular, efficient way of getting their hands on liquid hydrogen is a vital requirement to advance the hydrogen economy."
