Scala Secures $25m in Financing from Caterpillar Power Finance

Brazilian data center developer Scala Data Centers has secured $25 million in financing from Caterpillar Power Finance, marking  Caterpillar’s first with a data center company in Latin America. The financing is designed to drive sustainable growth across the company.

“This milestone goes far beyond a simple line of credit. It’s a reflection of Scala’s maturity and credibility as a long-term infrastructure partner with a solid balance sheet,” said Clayton Malheiros, CFO of Scala. “Caterpillar is not just a supplier in this model — they have become a true partner, sharing our vision and investing alongside us to support our sustainable growth.”

Caterpillar's Power Finance division focuses on the financing of power generation products, including electric power and oil & gas systems. As part of its offering, it provides specialized financing, leasing, and protection products for Caterpillar equipment. Exact details on what the funding will support have not been disclosed.
