Xference has Launched a New Distributed Infrastructure Platform from its Data Center in Italy

Feb 27, 2026 | Posted by Abdul-Rahman Oladimeji

Italy-based inference provider Xference has rolled out a new distributed infrastructure from a data center in Bergamo, in the Lombardy region. The startup also announced plans to launch a beta service for 100 selected users in the near term. The development follows a €700,000 (approximately $825,720) pre-seed funding round secured by the company.

“We’re happy to confirm that our new distributed infrastructure is now operational within Aruba SPA’s IT3 data center in Bergamo, Italy, a key strategic location for high-performance, AI-optimized infrastructure in Europe,” Xference’s CEO, Andrea Pili, told DCD.

“While we’re currently focused on leveraging this site to support our initial deployment, we are actively evaluating additional locations across Italy and the broader EU to expand our footprint in the near future.”

Maintaining robust privacy standards when selecting an AI supplier has become increasingly important for European companies in recent years. A Deloitte survey of 3,000 EU-based executives, published earlier this week, found that 77 percent of respondents now consider an AI solution’s country of origin in their vendor selection decisions, while nearly three in five (58 percent) primarily build their AI stacks using local providers.

There are 112 data centers in Italy.
